We provided an exciting visual backdrop to the prestigious European Green Capital Closing Ceremony, which took place at Bristol’s iconic Colston Hall.
Guests gathered to celebrate the city’s year as European Green Capital, and witness the handover of the title to Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, during a prestigious ceremony. Following our investment in the Green Capital launch event at the Victoria Rooms, where we supplied technical and scenic support, we were called upon by REM to transform the venue for this event.
Our team designed and installed a custom visual backdrop to the ceremony and created a dynamic moving reveal to celebrate the handover and create an impressive visual spectacular. We supplied a 12m x 4m bespoke screen, three LED laser projector blends and projection control using HD media servers. We also provided additional sound equipment to augment the in-house sound system and installed a range of eye-catching scenic displays within the foyer.
Reg Evans, managing director at Evans Audio Visual Staging commented: “As supporters of the message behind European Green Capital, it was great to be chosen to help deliver a high quality series of events for the organisers throughout the year. Being contracted for the closing ceremony was the icing on the cake and a brilliant way to bring Bristol’s year as European Green Capital to a close.
“To fit in with the ethos of the Green Capital, transport vehicles were kept to a minimum and the kit from the ceremony was reformed and reused to minimise waste. As a Bristol-based company, it was a privilege to be part of such a great local event with a range of other local suppliers.”
