Carpenters

We are currently looking for experienced carpenters to join our team immediately, creating sets, stages and displays for our scenery department.

The role would involve producing carpentry, joinery and props using sheet materials such as MDF and ply, as well as timber. You would be following technical drawings under the direction of our project and workshop managers.

Ideally you would have at least 1-2 years or more experience working within the industry. Our work is extremely varied and you would be working with an enthusiastic team in our modern workshop facilities. Based in our 9,000 sq ft workshop in Bristol, our experienced team build and design sets and stages for events using various materials and trades. We combine woodwork, metalwork, CNC cutting and print to ensure precise attention to detail every step of the way.

Key roles and responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all projects are built to the highest quality possible
  • Liaising with workshop and projects team for build and logistic schedules for various sized builds.
  • Following a project through build to install stages.
  • Organising the workshop and storage facilities.

Key skills:

  • Experience in a carpentry based role/ qualification
  • Driver’s license preferred.

Salary dependent on experience. Full-time. Working hours Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm with opportunities for onsite work and overtime.

 

Senior AV Technician 

Responsibilities: 

  • To provide technical solution design, assisting the sales team with support, specifications and costings for client’s events
  • To represent the Company on site meetings and liaise with clients, contractors and suppliers
  • To prepare and set-up a wide range of Audio Visual, sound , projection , video and lighting equipment and where required to operate said equipment during specific events
  • To provide on-site technical support where required
  • Delivering and collecting equipment from various venue sites and suppliers
  • Ensure that all audio visual services are delivered to clients in a professional and efficient manner
  • Assist and advise clients on the operation of certain equipment supplied without an on-site technician
  • Assist in maintaining quality control by monitoring condition of equipment , reporting any faults etc
  • Assisting with the preparation of H&S documentation
  • Supervising of AV/Event technicians and contract staff on events
  • Assist with any training of technical staff on the use and operation of new technology
Desired skills and qualities

As this is a senior position within our technical team we are looking for someone with solid AV skills and a strong and stable background within the industry.

The successful candidate will be someone who is presentable, polite and well-mannered. You must have good communication and client-facing skills as you will be operating in a corporate environment and must understand the flexible nature of the events industry. Other requirements include:

  • A full, clean UK drivers licence
  • A team player who is able to operate calmly under pressure. We are looking for a self-motivated person who is passionate about a long-term career in the AV Industry
  • PC literate with an excellent understanding of Powerpoint and who has experience with both Mac and Windows operation systems
  • A good understanding of sound reinforcement equipment including Digital and Analogue mixing consoles , wireless microphones , conference PA set-ups, speaker systems , audio processors and recording
  • A thorough understanding of projectors, switchers and scalers plus AV distribution via SDI and CAT5. Knowledge of various display screens and monitors / video walls is essential
  • Be familiar with stage lighting, dimmers, lighting controllers and desks, DMX and all types of LED lighting
  • Has some basic experience in camera operation for conference style events. Knowledge of video editing would be useful
This is a permanent position which we are looking to fill as soon as possible. We offer a competitive salary package based on experience.


Junior AV Technician and Warehouse Support 

This role consists of providing onsite technical support of Audio Visual services to a wide range of clients across many business sectors, as well as supporting warehouse and Hire Co-coordinator. You will be a key member of a small rental team.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Onsite technical support for small to medium projects - including the technical rig, client liaison, rehearsals, show operation etc.
  • Simple maintenance and servicing of company equipment
  • Preparation of equipment prior to dispatch
  • Delivery and collection of equipment
  • Checking of equipment on return from rental quickly and effectively
  • Reporting missing items, late returns and damages
  • Identifying equipment shortages and reporting to the warehouse manager
  • Loading and unloading of vans
  • Covering quick turnarounds - evenings and weekends as and when required
  • Ensuring the warehouse is clean and tidy
  • Dealing with customers on collections and returns

Skills

  • Experience as an audio visual technician an advantage but not essential
  • Ability to work under pressure, and to tight timescales
  • Work as part of a team as well as individually
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be sufficiently flexible and mobile to travel as required within the UK, Europe and beyond
  • Competent user of MS office products
  • Clean driving license

 

Warehouse/Storeman

Due to increased workloads we have a vacancy for a full time Warehouse/Storeman to work in our scenic & staging site. The role is varied, will require some heavy lifting, good organisational skills and the ability to work unsupervised as well as in a team.

This role would suit someone experienced in working in a rental or event staging stores environment, who has experience of booking in, kitting out, packing and despatch of staging and scenic items.

A clean driving license essential
