Evans AV Staging continued a long relationship with Bristol University at the start of a new academic year, September 2017, supporting a range of events with technical and scenic production.
First impressions are important, we’re delighted Bristol University entrusted us to deliver the technical and creative elements for their series of events around Fresher’s week.
Before the new and returning students even entered a building they saw the historic Victoria Rooms facade lit red, by a combination of architectural lighting and projection to pick out the spectacular features of the building.
The week began with UniSmart, an engaging induction presentation for first year students, which took place in a marquee on the lawn at Wills Hall. The Evans team provided the technical production elements and went beyond the call of duty to ensure all performers involved were comfortable with the equipment used and got sound quality they were all delighted with.
Evans also installed large LED screens relaying video and images across the 800 capacity Great Hall in the Wills Memorial Building for a series of twelve welcome presentations. Michael Payne was part of the team that installed the equipment and he remained on site throughout the two days of events engineering the feed into the screens, combining live speeches and a pre-recorded welcome message from Bristol’s Mayor, Marvin Rees.
Elsewhere Evans supplied a PA in the conference centre at Wills Hall to provide background music for the bar.
